Yarden Allonei Habashan Vineyard Merlot

is made entirely from Merlot grapes grown exclusively in the Allonei Habashan Vineyard, certified under the sustainable winegrowing standard and located in the central Golan Heights at 600 meters above sea level. The vineyard’s basalt soil is rich in clay (~40%), giving it a high water-holding capacity, while the many stones in the soil help the vines root deeply and the water drain.

About the wine:

Yarden Allonei Habashan Merlot shows aromas of ripe black and red fruit, orange peel, cedar, earth, tobacco and chocolate. A fresh, elegant and complex single-vineyard wine with a full body and a long, delightful finish.

The wine was aged in small French oak barrels, about 70% of them new, for 18 months.
