Psagot Merlot is a rich wine with a tight structure and a supporting acidic backbone. Aromas and flavors of red forest fruits, red plum, red and black cherry and green touches. An elegant wine with a high-quality, unique Israeli expression of the variety that pairs well with meat dishes. From the first sip you can feel the presence of this elegant wine, with a delicate, spiced finish that lingers. The grapes come from vineyards in the Jerusalem Mountains at 900 meters. The wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. The Merlot is hand-harvested in the early morning hours and every cluster is carefully selected.
Psagot Winery and its vineyards, planted deep in the rocky soil of Binyamin,
are a continuation of a long chain of generations of fine winemaking,
in a region where conditions are optimal.
The winery was founded in 2003 and has grown steadily ever since. Today it produces
over 750,000 bottles, more than 70% of which
are exported to dozens of countries. Every year the winery’s wines win
medals and international awards at prestigious competitions around the world.
In June 2020, Psagot Winery moved to its new home at Sha’ar Binyamin.
A beautiful stone building houses the winemaking facility, and its impressive cellar
ages more than 1,000 barrels every year.
