This blend was first produced in the 2008 vintage. The wine’s name derives from the geographic coordinates of the winery’s vineyards: latitude 32°N, which passes just north of longitude 35°E, crossing the winery courtyard. The name 32°N35°E is our way of giving thanks to the blessed land and the special conditions of the Ella Valley region, known for its unique “terroir”. A complex, powerful wine combining aromas of barrel-aged fruit, leather and earth. Rich, multi-layered and dramatic – powerful, yet elegant and polished, with a lingering finish.
The Ella Valley is known worldwide as the site of the famous battle between David and Goliath. However, in ancient times the valley was just as famous for the wines produced there. The historic tradition of growing vines and making wine, forgotten for hundreds of years, was revived in the early 1990s thanks to the determination of a handful of visionaries. The founding of Ella Valley Winery in 1998 brought back to the region a wine culture thousands of years old – with the tools and knowledge of the 21st century. The founders’ guiding principle was to produce excellent wine that makes the most of the region’s unique advantages and conditions. It is an ESTATE winery, producing premium wines exclusively from its own vineyards, controlling the grape-growing process and placing strong emphasis on regional expression – “terroir”. Ella Valley Winery is one of the few wineries in Israel of its size (300,000 bottles a year) that owns its vineyards, allowing it to rely solely on them without outside growers.
